Nico Corfield Trainee

Nico, our resident non-binary technician, joined the Digital Orchard Team as a Kit Room Trainee after graduating from The University for the Creative Arts in Farnham with a 2nd class upper division degree in Film Production.

While in the kit room at Digital Orchard, Nico was trained by kit room manager Nick Verlaine in setting up and building video and DIT systems, troubleshooting, and absorbing the technical knowledge of the rigs being sent out. Over their eighteen-month tenure in the rental house, Nico worked alongside many Digital Orchard technicians, helping to tailor and fix their setups while gaining valuable experience with some of them in on-set environments. They worked as a DIT Trainee on Beetlejuice 2 under Richard and Katherine Newton,  a video assistant for Pacu Trautvetter and Leya Ward on My Lady Jane and a video trainee for Bruce Newton on Silo Season 2.

Now Nico has started their journey towards the world of being an Onset technician, hoping that they can bring their extensive and detailed knowledge to productions and fellow crew members. They may be new blood but Nico’s creative flair, outside-the-box thinking, and contagious enthusiasm push them to constantly improve their work and expand on their knowledge.
